Dennis Hopper's House Venice Beach California

Dennis Hopper's Venice Beach, Calif., compound was relisted in July for $6.49 million, but the asking price was lowered by $500,000 shortly after.

Hopper's property was originally listed in July 2010, shortly after his death, for $6.25 million, but the price was later reduced several times, to as low as $3.2 million. The listing was removed and the homereceived an extensive makeover.

According to the Zillow listing:

"Reintroduction of legendary actor and artist Dennis Hopper's stunning compound with improvements just completed by original architect Brian Murphy, AIA. A once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase five separate parcels totaling approximately 15,500 square-feet of land; featuring a 4,800 square-foot main house designed by Brian Murphy, AIA, and three, two-story condominiums designed by the legendary architect Frank Gehry.

"A true oasis in the city, there is also a lushly landscaped yard, a 100-year-old guest cottage, a sparkling lap pool and a pool house. With its undulating aluminum and steel exterior, the main residence is an ode to the industrial look.

"This property represents a truly rare find. It is an artist's dream come true, with its light-filled interiors and its artistic heritage. Close to both Abbot Kinney and Main Street, this property offers both a rich history and unlimited possibilities for a creative live and/or work space celebrating the very best of Venice."
